o erro que esta ocorendo é o seguinte

tente fazer deste jeito
dmtabel.qativo.locate(´nome´, AValue,[]); ou
dmtabel.qativo.locate(´nome´,edit1.text,[]);
dmtabel.qativo.locate(´nome´, AValue,[]); ou
dmtabel.qativo.locate(´nome´,edit1.text,[]);

é que eu precisava usar os ´locaseinsensitive, lopartitalkey´ para ficar melhor a busca....

coloque a classe db na cláusula uses
